The college has sufficient number of labs for training in all the major areas of pharmacy. The labs are well furnished and designed to permit students ample working space. All security measures have been put in place to assist in case of emergencies. The area of the laboratories complies with AICTE standards (75sqM) and the equipments are maintained as per PCI guidelines. Every six months an audit of chemicals is conducted by the lab attendants.

Other than working laboratories the college also has a Central Instrument room where common instruments as well as instruments requiring air conditioning are kept. Each instrument is operated through a SOP and a log book for efficient functioning. To provide the instrument a non-fluctuating power supply college has installed huge stabilizers and sturdy power connections.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry
The department of pharmaceutical chemistry is involved in taking lectures in the subjects of general chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmaceutical / medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical analysis.

The department is involved in teaching pharmaceutical analysis to the undergraduates. The curriculum includes extensive lectures and laboratory sessions to ensure that students can connect theory to practice and apply their theoretical knowledge gained. The field of pharmaceutical analysis is very dynamic and the curriculum ensures that the students are kept abreast with the latest development in this field. They are taught classical and modern analytical techniques including the application of sophisticated instruments

Department of Pharmacognosy
Pharmacognosy is probably the oldest of the modern sciences that involves the study of the physical, chemical, biochemical and biological properties of natural drugs, including the search for new drugs from natural sources. The subject is one of the core branches in the pharmacy curriculum.

The department of Pharmacognosy caters to the modern needs of Industry by providing conducive ambience for learning and develop skills to befit the industrial and academic demands. The growing needs for herbal drugs standardization and analysis in the pharmaceuctical, herbal/ayurvedic, nutraceutical and cosmeceutical industries has paved the way for the requirement of well trained personnel. Our department has been continuously providing skilled hands to industry and academic demands.  The alumni of our department and their positions in the industry and academia speak about the employability of our students.

Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis
Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis is the backbone of the teaching as well as research in the pharmacy education program since analysis of the raw material as well as the finished product is of prime importance for the safety and efficacy for human consumption.
Department of Pharmaceutics
The Department of Pharmaceutics is a place where commitment to excellence in academia, research and development is demonstrated through productivity and success of our faculty and students. We continue to march with times and our program focuses on expanding the scientific avenues for improving the delivery of drugs and therapeutic agents. We offer a training environment that includes latest formulation laboratory instrumentation and technologies supervised by experienced teachers and dedicated staffs.
Department of Pharmacology
Pharmacology is the science concerned with all aspects of the action of drugs and other chemicals on living systems. Its primary aim is the discovery of chemical mechanisms by which cellular and molecular functions are regulated for the purpose of understanding how existing drugs act and to develop new drugs for treatment and diagnosis of human diseases. The discipline of pharmacology explores biology through the actions of drugs and chemical substances. Drugs and chemicals produce their effects only through modifications of underlying biological systems; their actions are useful in regulating not only normal functions of cells and organisms but also the abnormal processes which occur in disease

Our mission is to provide quality education in pharmacology for students, to educate and train them to carry out basic research of recognized excellence, and to participate in governance and leadership in the Basaveshwara College of Pharmacy.
